Our institution strictly adheres to the eligibility criteria set by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) for both B.Sc. (Nursing) and DGNM admissions.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Nursing:

Age limit:

The candidate should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should attain the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the 1st year of the course. The maximum age limit for admission to B.Sc (N) should not exceed 35 years.

Educational Qualification:

Minimum Educational Qualification

  • The candidate should have passed +2 or an equivalent qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology & English with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.
  • The candidate should have passed the English subject in 10+2. It is compulsory to be eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing).

Other eligibility:

  • The candidate shall be medically fit.
  •  Students shall be admitted once in a year

Eligibility Certificate:

The candidate who has passed any qualifying examination other than the higher secondary examination conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu should produce an eligibility certificate from The Tamilnadu Dr M.G.R Medical University before seeking admission.

Commencement and Duration of the Course             

The Basic B.Sc (N) course commences on 1st November. The duration of the study shall extend over four academic years.

Eligibility criteria for DGNM:

Age limit:

The candidate should have completed the age of 17 at the time of admission (or) should complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the 1st year of the course. The maximum age limit for admission to GNMshould not exceed 35 years, respectively.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidate should have passed +2 (or) equivalent qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology & English with a minimum of 40% of aggregate marks.
  • 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream only, passing out from recognised Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board
  • 10+2 vocational ANM under the CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.
  • Registered as an ANM with the State Nursing Registration Council

Commencement and Duration of the Course

  •  The GNM Course commences on 1st September. The duration of the study extends over a period of three years.
